Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa

You can choose to get to Lhasa by train or by plane according to your own needs. On the way to Lhasa, you may have a view on the Yarlung Tsangpo River and Lhasa River.

When you arrive in Lhasa, you will go to the hotel. You’d better have a good rest in the hotel to adapt to the high altitude in Lhasa.

If you really want to go out, you can have a stroll around the Potala Palace, where you can enjoy the colorful fountain and take some amazing photos.

You will spend the night in Lhasa.

Day 2: Lhasa Tour(Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street)

In the morning, you will visit the Potala Palace, the highest palace in the world. The Potala Palace, located in the western suburb of Lhasa, has a history of more than 1300 years. It is a treasure house of Tibetan culture, collecting all kinds of historical relics and handicrafts. Nowadays, the Potala Palace, as a treasure of Chinese national culture, attracts thousands of tourists from home and abroad with its unique charm.

After lunch, you will visit the Jokhang Temple, the holiest site of Tibetan Buddhism. Located in the center of the Barkhor Street, the Jokhang Temple, was beginning to build in 647. It is the most splendid building in Tibet during the Tubo period. It is the oldest existing civil structure in Tibet. Around the temple is the Barkhor Street. It is the well-preserved old street in Lhasa. It is also a gathering place of the religion, economy, and culture in Lhasa. Most of the tourists who travel to Tibet must visit the Barkhor Street and experience the local customs in Tibet.

You will spend the night in Lhasa.

Day 3: Lhasa Tour(Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery)

In the morning, you will visit Drepung Monastery, which is the biggest Tibetan Buddhism. It was beginning to build in 1416.

After lunch, you will visit Sera Monastery, which was beginning to build in 1419. Located in the northern suburbs of Lhasa, it is one of the three major monasteries of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism in Lhasa. You’d better go to around 3 pm because there is the famous monks’ debate from 3 pm to 5 pm in the Sera Monastery.

You will spend the night in Lhasa.

Day 4: Ganden Monastery

Today, you will visit Ganden Monastery, which the most special one temple of 6 major monasteries of the Gelug sect. It is 60 kilometers east of Lhasa. On the way from Lhasa to Ganden Monastery, you can enjoy the stunning natural scenery.

After visiting the Ganden Monastery, you can have a stroll around it and visit the Tibetans’ village.

You will spend the night in Lhasa.

Day 5: Departure from Lhasa

You will end your Tibet tour and go home with satisfies.
